Ôh sweet protein balls

It's the end of winter, one of my resolution it to put down the chocolate - I had a slight obsession with the Milka-and-orea chocolate for the past month - and I am currently trying to create better snacks for myself. 
Juices and smoothies are great, but sometimes, you just need something that you can chew on, and that is actually going to fill your belly and your craving for something sweet during the day - especially around 4pm for me. Something sweet indeed, but also something full of protein, tasty, and healthy. So I decided to make some dates and peanut butter balls, combining different recipes found on the internet. This is my little own remix of the recipes, and I'm very satisfied with them!

You will need:
* a cup full of dates
* a cup full of oats
* one or two spoons of peanut butter 
* two spoons of flaxseeds
* a spoon of dark chocolate
* a spoon full of nuts
* a little bit of water
* a nice powerful blender

Options: you can replace oat by muesli, peanut butter by any kind of "nut" butter - but try to look at the ingredients and take the ones with 100%nuts - , any kind of nut - cajun, walnut...-, flaxseeds by coconut flakes, and you don't really need dark chocolate, but you can also add dark chocolate powder instead of hard chocolate bits. 

Main step: Blend blend blend. Start by putting your dates into your blender, then oats. After that, you can feel the texture. If it's too dry, add a bit of water, blend, then add nuts. Add your dark chocolate if you want, blend until smooth, then put your mixture in the fridge to cool down. 

Final step: After an hour in the fridge, form balls by hand and roll them in your flaxseeds. It will give them an extra crunch, but will also prevent them from sticking to each other. Put them back in the fridge for at least half an hour, then, it's ready to eat! Enjoy!
